Where to Stay in Switzerland - Crans Ambassador

It was dark, cold and snowy when we arrived at Crans Ambassador in the evening, but the candle-lit entrance together with the friendly greetings from the staff warmed us up instantly. Finally, we were in Crans-Montana, one of the most prominent ski resorts in Switzerland, also in the world.

After a smooth check-in and quick refreshing up, we went straight for dinner at La Muña, Crans Ambassador’s open-kitchen restaurant with cosy and elegant settings and Asian and Peruvian-inspired cuisines. We were intrigued with this type of cuisine offering, since most of the Swiss hotels in the mountains stick to the traditional Swiss dishes. And we were pleasantly surprised. The dishes were prepared right in front of our eyes, hence they are ultra-fresh. The presentation of the dishes was very eye-catching with a good mix of colors, textures and shapes. Moreover, the taste of the dishes were divine and every bite was flavourful. With a full and satisfied belly, we retreated back into our room and called it a night.

The next morning, we woke up to a breathtaking sunrise view of the snowy mountains. Walking pass the Bar and Lounge area to our breakfast in La Muña, the panoramic view can be seen from every turn. In the daylight, the amber-hued contemporary interior featuring wood, leather, fur and stone looks even more inviting that at night. Sitting at the table in front of a two-story high floor-to-ceiling glass window, we enjoyed our delicious breakfast with the stunning view.

For snowsport enthusiasts, the location of Crans Ambassador could not be better. Not only is Crans Ambassador a ‘ski-in/ski-out’ hotel, but also they stock everything that the guests (especially the families) might need to ensure maximum enjoyment of their winter sports. And for the spa lovers, the spa area of Crans Ambassador , the entire 1,300 m² of it, is a pure bliss.  The pool is filled with natural light and you can see the incredible mountain views while you swim and relax.

For lunch, we opted to dine in the Bar & Lounge, which serves delicious traditional dishes with a stylish twist. What I love the most about this place is its spacious, relaxed, modern and cosy setting with picture windows all around offering expansive views of Crans-Montana.

Although our stay at Crans Ambassador was short, but the impression it had on us was massive. Hope we can return again in summer to see how it transform itself into a summer playground.

*I was invited as guests by Crans Ambassador. but all opinions are my own.
